Dry Jamun | Dry Gulab Jamun Recipe

Dry Gulab Jamun is a dry version of Gulab Jamun recipe. This dry version of sweet gives more self life as compared to normal jamun. This can be made as similar as normal jamun and the last part is to roll out those jamun in  fine sugar. 

Whenever I tastes dry jamun , I remember those child hood days where I got an excellent dry jamuns from Murari sweets, Kumbakonam. I will fell for that exoctic dry Jamuns. Still now I get the Jamuns as with same taste from there. 
I am in finding with curiosity and trying these jamuns every time using bread or from Jamun mix. I want to post the actual recipe of it. Finally I got this from a Magazine, Now  I want to share this recipe with you all. Hope You too love this recipe. Happy Diwali to all!

How to make Dry Jamun Recipe

Ingredients Required

For Jamun

For Sugar Syrub

No of pieces : 20 Jamuns


1.  First step is to make sugar syrup by boiling the sugar and water together into one string consistency. switch off and add elachi powder into it. Then take a bowl, keep flour, milk powder, salt, ghee, milk and curd together except the sugar for dusting. 

2. Make a soft peel-able dough by adding milk if necessery. Make small balls out of the dough. Fry these balls in oil.

3. Keep these balls in tissues. Then add and soak these balls in sugar syrub for atleast 2 hours. Then take it out and roll these jamun balls in fine sugar and keep it aside. 

Dry Jamun is ready ! Keep inside an airtight container.

Note :

  • Don't add water while making dough for jamun 
  • Add only milk to make soft dough.
  • Don't keep the dough not more than 5 mins.
