Instant Sambar | Quick Sambar | No pressure Cook Sambar

Instant Sambar is an easy, quick and tasty sambar. This can be done without pressure cook the dal. This can be made when we have little dal at a hand. 

While we clear the stock, we have little dal at hand, we can make a pot full of sambar from it. My mom used to do everytime when we want different taste of sambar.

Quite simple and fast recipe when we have surprise guests at home. It will be more helpful for those working ladies came from office tired to cook dal in pressure cooker for sambar. Hope it will be helpful for you all..

How to Make Quick Sambar

Ingredients Required

Time Of  Preparation : 15 min (excluding soaking time)
No of Serving : 3 

Method Of Preparation

1. Soak dal in hot water for 10 mins. Remove water from the dal and grind along with coconut into a paste. Keep it aside.

2. Chop the onion, ginger and tomato into pieces. slit the green chillies into two. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add mustard and cumin seeds. When it sputters add ginger , green chillies, curry leaves and onion one by one and saute until it little mushy.

3. Then add tomato and saute until mushy. Add turmeric powder, hing and saute well. Then, add little water and cook until it cooked.

4. At last, add the grounded dal paste,salt and enough water and mix well. Boil the mixture, in between stir well. Otherwise it will get burned at bottom. After boiled and raw smell goes , transfer it to a pot.

 Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with Idly or Dosa .
