Channa Masala Sundal , How to make Kondakadalai Masala Sundal

Channa masala sundal, normally consider as navratri recipes, but I use to do very regularly as evening snack for my kids .It’s very healthy  and taste good.

Channa / Chickpea is high in protein and low in fat . Eating chickpeas provides you with a vegetarian-friendly source of protein, with each cup of cooked beans containing 15 grams ,its also  rich in fiber .

Well cooked channa, saute with curry leaves, spice and coconut will be very delicious and mouth watering. It contain a good aroma when you add the right proportion of spice .

How to Make Channa Masala Sundal


Time of Preparation : 25 min  ( excluding soaking time )
No Of serving          : 3 nos 

Method Of Preparation

1. Soak Chickpeas overnight or atleast 8 hrs and cook with required salt for 4 whistles in pressure cooker. Skip if you have cooked chickpeas at hand. Heat pan fry roast the channa dal, coriander seeds and red chilli and grind into powder using mixer grinder.

2. Keep the cooked Chick peas\Channa. Heat 1 tbsp of Oil in kadai add the Mustard seeds, Urad dhal and curry leaves. When it sputters add the Asafetida/ Hing into it. Add the cooked chick peas\ Channa  and saute for a minute. 

3.Add the grounded powder into it and mix it well. In medium flame saute the Chick peas\ channa well for 2 minutes.Switch off the flame. Add the grated coconut into it and mix well.

Channa Masala Sundal is ready to Serve.
