Murungai Keerai Poriyal | Drumstick Leaves Curry

Murungai Keerai leaves are the most nutritious part of the plant. a significant source of Vitamin B6, A and C. It rich in High calcium and protein than in Cow's milk. Adding murungai keerai leaves weekly once will get rid of malnutrition among children and pregnant ladies.Lot of benefits are there for Drumstick leaves...


1. Remove the Drum stick leaves from the stem. Wash and chop the leaves.
2. Add the finely chopped onion to it and mix well.
3. Take a pan heat the oil in it add the tempering mustard,cumin,urad dal and Red chili one by one.
4. Add the Drum stick and onion mixture and toss for a minute.
5. Sprinkle the required water and cook the leaves until it cooked.
6. Add the required salt and coconut to it.Remove it from heat.
7. Serve as a side dish for sambar.

Note: My grandma add powdered roasted Peanut at last to enhance the taste. She loves a lot i dedicate this recipe to her...
