Method
1.Take a pan boil the
water and add salt in it.
2.Next add shredded
coconut into the boiling water.
3.Put the stove in low
flame add rice flour slowly keep stirring until it reaches dough consistency.
4.Switch off the stove
.and Keep it aside.
5. After cools down,
make the dough into small size(big grapes size) balls using water.
6.Stream the balls in a
streamer or in idly cooker for five minutes.
7.Meantime take a mixer
add the ingredients given in the masala column shredded coconut, fennel seeds , chilli powder , coriander powder. Grind
it as powder without adding water.
8.Heat oil in a pan,
add mustard ,urad dhal and curry leaves one by one.
9.Add the boiled
kozhukattai/Rice balls in it and then add the ground masala in it. Mix it
evenly in low flame.
10.Serve hot.
Note:I always use idiyappam flour for making it comes soft . If flour is harder use more water to make soft
dough. Don’t mix flour long time in the stove otherwise the dough become harder. Use oil
or water while making balls.
