Quick Rice Upma | Muzhu Arisi Upma

 

Muzhu Arisi upma is my grandma's recipe..it can be made with available ingredients(Rice and Split MoongDal) at home. The best side dish for this is Cumin Gravy |Jeeraga Kulambu  or any spicy gravy(left over). Its a one pot cooking dish. Hope you and your family will enjoy this... Kandathippili Rasam | Long Pepper Root Soup


Kandathipili is a long pepper root have lot of medicinal uses. Kandathipili rasam is made for the ailment of body pain, nausea, general tiredness, bronchitis, cough and cold. This rasam is frequently made for the postpartum delivery meals(pathiya sapadu).  It will be available in all south Indian herbals shop. I tried this recipe many times.. but it tastes awesome when i tried  it from My Mom's cookbook. I often do this recipe when i feel tired and after a long travel.

Easy Sambar Satham | Kids Lentil Rice


The Easiest recipe which frequently i use to do is sambar satham. Because my kid and my hubby likes it all time.

when i little bit lazy to do sambar and poriyal separately, i will go for this all in one (veggies,dal and rice) Sambar Satham. When my kids started eating solid food ( above 6 months age)  i start doing this sambar satham daily.

Every day i changed the veggies so the tastes may vary, my kids enjoyed this. When your kid hates some of veggies, no problem... put that veggies and some liked vegetables together and make the sambar satham, definitely they will eat... Easy and healthy one pot cooking saves energy and time.

We made this for lunch, if we have more butter milk or curd is there. We not only enjoyed this for lunch, we also enjoyed it, if we have left over kulambu at dinners as side dish for rice upma or idlys. Less time is required in making of this kulambu.

Before i tasted the fried rice at hotel its contains more oil and stomach was bloated every time... so i hate to try the fried rice..One of our friends bought me fried rice from a Chinese restaurant it so favourable and there is no burden in stomach, it digested easily.. they used pepper as a spice for the rice. now i became a big fan of fried rice ...i tried this fried rice every time it came out good ..

               Tastes are a very important medicine needed for our health. which taste your tongue will ask ,eat the taste..Prepare food with all tastes such as sweet, salt, sour, spicy, etc. in moderate quantity. we have to add tastes according to our tongue’s demand. Taste which is deficient to our body, the tongue ask for it... if u have diabetics or BP anything else don't avoid sweet and salt completely, sometimes tongue ask for it eat it...tongue is a best doctor. Hear what the tongue says not other doc.


 



Eat the six tastes...If u miss any of the six taste eat Indian gooseberry it contains six tastes(arusuvai in Tamil).Eat gooseberry a day keep doctor away...So eat tasty and healthy...
 


 

Eating tips 

  • Eat food if u r hungry..
  • Eat the food by grinding into a paste by using the teeth..
  • Close the mouth while chewing..don't allow the air inside while grinding.. Don't drink water before, in between or after eating...
  • Drink water 1/2 hour before and after eating.. it helps the food to digest...
  • Don't look at the TV or talk to anybody while eating...
  • Concentrate on the food while eating...
